So… I know that we’re supposed to be gracious and long-suffering and all that, but some days I just get peeved.  That whole thing where a small behavior just grates on your nerves?  Yeah. Peeved.  Enough to make me roll my eyes and sigh like a middle schooler.

Today it was school-related. Since we are in the online portion of the semester, our class discussions happen in forums.  The good news is that since everyone is required to reply, we hear from people who might not always speak up in the classroom.  The bad news is that there is no limit on how many times people can post and reply to other people.

She steps up on the rant platform:

How many times can you state and restate and beat the ever-loving snot out of a dead horse?  And by the way, a “brief” response is generally significantly shorter than 200-300 words.  Oh, and while we’re at it, you actually DON’T have to respond to every single post and reply in the forum.  In fact, if you were to restrain yourself a bit, there might be richer conversation among others in the classroom.  Perhaps if you were to imagine a real-time version of the discussion, you would realize just how much your “spirited engagement” was actually overbearing and overwhelming the conversation.

Stepping back off the rant platform, breathing deeply, diving back into my homework.
