It’s hard to imagine what it must be like
to sit atop a rocket and wait to be blasted into space
to anticipate and prepare
only to be told you have to wait… a day… two days…
And yet, I suppose that we are there, too.
Living in the now and the not yet
waiting to see your kingdom come,
waiting to see the changes that your love brings
to a lost and forgetful world
As I wait and prepare, let me not wait only in stillness
show me the work that I should be about
equip me, empower me, embolden me,
awaken and require me
to be at work in the not yet.
