So, Christmas came and was well-celebrated. Back to work for three days, then we’re in the car for a 12-hour drive into the mountains to hang with the best friends we have.
The Smokies were beautiful, the go-karts were fast, and the fellowship was sweet. The worst part was the Rockin New Year’s Eve show… more commercials than anything I’ve ever seen. At least for Super Bowl you get good commercials!!
Now the FPK and Hubby have headed back home, and I’m hanging with my friends in Music City. – Much cheaper flight from here to Chi-town than from the Vacation Capital of the World.
We’ve seen some snow flurries off & on, and I’m getting a sneak preview of the cold I’ll see next week in Iowa.
Anyway, it’s been a relaxing and lovely start to the New Year. Which is great, since next week starts the J-term (semester 2 of Baby Greek) followed closely by another 6 hours of coursework, a new boss at work and some potentially difficult conversations at the home church.
Not that I have tons of faithful readers, but to those who come to visit— Happy 2008!
May God bring peace to our families, our cities and the world
May God surprise us with blessings beyond our imaginings
May God heal our wounds, bind our hearts and ignite our spirits
May we respond with radical obedience and passionate faith
